How to Take Out Frustration or Anger- Without Hurting Anyone ElseOften times one can get so frustrated or angry that all they want to do is smack someone down or pound the wall. This can cause injury to others as well as themselves. There are other things that can be done to ease the frustration and anger that will not cause harm to anyone. Here are a few suggestions. At the initial onset of frustration or anger, stop and count. If 10 won't do it count to 100 in a focused manner. This will stop the mind's urge to do something immediately without thinking and possibly make the situation worse. If you are with the person causing the frustration or anger move away, get out of there, go somewhere else until you can calm down and reasonably assess the situation. Getting into a fight isn't going to help anything. If you are in a car and start to go into a rage, do not act out. You could hurt yourself and worse, hurt or kill an innocent person. Pull to the side of the road until sanity returns. Now that the initial frustration or anger has been quelled there are some things that you can do to keep it that way. Humans like to dwell on things that bother them instead of letting it go and going on with life. Get that frustration and anger out of your system for good. Go to the gym and let off some steam. Work out on the machines or find some boxing gloves and knock around a bag. Imagine the person's face on that bag and punch away. You can't hurt anyone but yourself this way. Find a place to go where no one will hear you and nothing is around that can hurt you. Go for a walk in a secluded woods, take a friend if you don't feel safe enough to go alone. Once you get to where you don't think anyone can hear you yell. Yell as loud as you can. Scream. Tell that person what you really think of them even though they aren't there. Let it all go. Find some friends that understand the situation and go to a paintball court. Rent equipment and understand safety issues that come along with a paintball game. Take out your frustrations on your opponents, being careful not to go overboard of course. Paint ball is fun but it can also alleviate some of your frustrations and anger especially if you imagine the person you are angry at is the hay bale you are shooting at. Go to the batting cage. Smacking a ball around with a bat really does ease the aggravation you may have. The ball can't go far because you are in a cage so everything should be safe. Anything physical will probably do the trick but don't forget about the mental issues that surround frustration and anger. You need to let the issue or even the person causing your anguish go. Imagine throwing the issues over a big cliff. They are gone and there is nothing more you can do with them. Just be sure you don't actually push the person causing the issues over that cliff. You don't want to get yourself in a lot of trouble over a silly issue that can be taken care of in another way. About the Author |

Biofuels, Hybrids or HerbivoresSouth Park parodied hybrid car owners creating clouds of ‘smug’, but do they really have anything to be smug about? In the battle against man-made global warming and reducing pollution ethanol powered cars, not hybrids, are touted the way to go and politicians and the environmentally conscious alike are jumping on the bandwagon. There is no doubt that ethanol burns far more cleanly than diesel or petrol – we could radically reduce the pollutants in our atmosphere by switching. Or can we? You see, to create ethanol, crops need to be grown. Because ethanol is not as potent as petrol, more ethanol is burned per kilometre. It takes between 75-90% of the energy yielded from ethanol to actually grow it – ploughing, harvesting, processing and shipping all add up – and ethanol still releases a lot of carbon dioxide. Then there’s the environmental destruction caused by the conversion of land to biofuel production. This either takes forests or fallow land, or removes land from the general agriculture pool which pushes up food prices. Both of these reduce biodiversity. Add to that the increased erosion, fertiliser pollution and waterway silting and the argument for ethanol is fizzling rapidly. Even if we manage to eek out a saving using hybrids as opposed to ethanol, at best these cars get only marginally better fuel economy than, for example, a diesel VW Polo, and they take as much if not more toxic metals and fossil fuels to produce. The most we can hope for is a fraction of a percent reduction. There is one radical change we can make, though. Cows, sheep, pigs and chickens account for a whopping 9% of GHG emissions, but 18% of the GHG effect (methane from farts is over 20 times more damaging than carbon dioxide in terms of its global warming potential). So, would a better solution to reduce greenhouse gases be to change to a diet of lentils and beans? Our own emissions might then match those of the livestock! It’s a no-win situation, then, so where’s my chicken sandwich. Stock Car
![]() Why dose nascar claim to be STOCK CAR racing? I realise that 50 + years ago they raced stock production cars. That isn't the case today or for the last several years. There is nothing on these cars of today that is remotely stock. I think that they should have to run a factory production chassis and body not a fabricated frame. Well, they don't really, it's just in the name still. And the National Association for Custom-Fabricated Full-Fender Race Car Auto Racing would be NACFFFRCAR, which is too hard to pronounce. Seriously, factory production chassis means factory production engines. Who wants to watch V-6 powered, front-wheel-drive Impalas and Fusions putter around a track at 90 mph? I believe the Dodge Charger is RWD, which probably means it could go a little faster -- fast enough to kill the drivers when they crashed, which would be often, since factory bodies could accommodate only factory-size wheels and tires. NASCAR machines were a lot more fun to look at in the '60s and '70s, when the teams really did start with a body in white, and the finished race car looked quite a bit like what you saw on the street. Even then, though, the chassis were highly modified for safety and reliability. Detroit just doesn't build cars like that any more (V-8, RWD, full frame). You can't go home again. If you really want to see *stock* cars racing, I'll bet your local short track has a "bomber" class. They're slow as all get out, of course, but fun to watch. |

Nascar Tickets - the Rise of the Stock Car EvolutionThe National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) will be completing 60 years this December, when the first meeting was organized all those years ago by Bill France Sr., to discuss problems faced by stock car racing. From that first humble meeting, NASCAR has become one of the most popular spectator sports in the world. No one present in that meeting could ever have dreamed that NASCAR would turn out to become what it is today! The Stock Car Evolution The first race under the aegis of NASCAR was held on February 15, 1948 at Daytona Beach. This was the post WWII era. Obviously, there was a shortage of new cars. Most people were driving pre-war models, which were in a rattletrap condition, to say the least. The cars were ‘modified,’ which consisted of merely tweaking and tuning the engine. Ropes sufficed as seat belts, and the more colorful drivers used aircraft harnesses. Roll bars, which have been mandated since 1952, were not in use during those early years. The ‘stock car’ designation was strictly enforced and brought cars from diverse manufacturers, such as Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, Ford, Hudson, Kaiser, Lincoln, Mercury and Oldsmobile. One of the greatest problems was the failure of the wheels and the suspensions, as the racing surfaces were rough, dirt tracks. As stock car racing gained popularity, there was fierce competition, and this made modifications necessary. Many modifications were brought in, in the interest of safety, and many special ‘high performance’ parts found there way into the mainstream models. This enabled these ‘special’ parts to be used in NASCAR racing. The first special production was that of ‘racing tires,’ which in 1952, were manufactured and distributed by Pure Oil Company. This made quite a change from the normal ‘street’ tires. Development in tires continued, with both Firestone, and Goodyear – to some degree – took keen interest. Such developments were necessitated by increase in car speeds. In 1952, two-way radios were used for the first time in a NASCAR race, and today it is a vital piece of equipment. Faced with a spate of hubs, axles, and suspension failures, the Oldsmobile, Lincoln and Hudson car companies introduced usage kits, in 1953. In those early times, racing drivers did not stick to one particular model, or even make. They fairly jumped from one model, or make, to another, depending on what car or model they thought was suitable for their needs. Today, the cars and the tracks used in NASCAR racing are a far cry from what they were all those five and six decades ago, when there were ‘true’ stock cars, racing on rough and dirt tracks. The Tickets The NASCAR race calendar is always full, and its fans all over the country eagerly look to purchase NASCAR tickets for the races of their choice. Your best option to lay your hands on your choice of NASCAR tickets is through legitimate and professional ticket brokers. Competent ticket brokers have the resources to arrange to procure your NASCAR tickets for you, and have them delivered to your doorstep. Ore Car
![]() how do you do this problem? A loaded ore car has a mass of 860 kg and rolls on rails with negligible friction. It starts from rest and is pulled up a mine shaft by a cable connected to a winch. The shaft is inclined at 20.0° above the horizontal. The car accelerates uniformly to a speed of 2.20 m/s in 13.0 s and then continues at constant speed. a) mg sin 20* x 2.2 = 860 x 9.8 x sin 20* x 2.2 b) [mgl sin 20* + 1/2 m(v ^ 2) ] / 13 where l is the distance travelled on the shaft in 13 s. c) mgl sin 20* + 1/2 m(v ^ 2) where l = 1150 m. |

Merthyr Tydfil; Beautiful Scenery And Industrial HeritageMerthyr lying in the south of Wales is in one of the most beautiful and stunning regions in the country. With a hire car it is possible to see not only this interesting town but also to tour the wondrous Brecon Beacons National Park. The town of Merthyr has a rich and illustrious history, particularly in manufacturing during the industrial revolution. This is because Merthyr Tydfil was perfectly placed to take advantage of the wealth of nearby coal mines and iron ore deposits; as such the town was labelled the iron capital of the world during the industrial revolution, making many of the cannon present on British naval warships. This manufacturing industry declined however and today employment in Merthyr Tydfil relies on the service industries rather than industrial manufacturing. As previously stated the Brecon Beacons National Park is only a short drive with your hire car from Merthyr Tydfil. This region, regarded by many to be the most beautiful in Wales is certainly worth visiting when in the area. With large numbers of small market towns, castles and more open space than it is possible to shake a stick at, it is a region literally filled with fun and entertainment. The simple pleasure so of using your hire car to tour the rolling hills and deep valleys is a sublime experience that in short, is an essential component of any trip to the region. Children will also be entertained in the Brecon Beacons as there are plenty of attractions specifically focussed towards younger visitors with adventure playgrounds and activities to keep them occupied while mum and dad relax. A nearby country estate is Cyfarthfa Castle, built from profits earned during the industrial revolution, it was constructed in 1825 and sits in one hundred and sixty acres of superbly manicured gardens and parkland. Today the castle is the site of a museum detailing elements of Welsh history from the past three thousand years. Within the castle are art collections that include pottery and porcelain from heralded designers Wedgwood. Naturally the museum plays host to an exhibition showing the rise of this small town to one of the capitals of the industrial revolution. There is information on Richard Trecithick's Penydarren Locomotive that was in fact the first train to pull a load along rails. The museum also gives visitors the chance to see the roots of the labour movement and information pertaining to the country's first labour member of parliament. Thankfully the castle is easily reachable with the use of car hire services from Merthyr. As with much of this region of Wales a strong pride is felt for the industrial heritage and hard work of their mining ancestors. This is why when in Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding region using a hire car to visit one of the many old collieries is highly advisable. One of these collieries is in Blaenavon; the site has actually been added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list since 2000. The reason this site is so important to the history of Wales and the world more generally is because it showcases the pre-eminence of the region in the sphere of iron production during the industrial revolution. Nearby is the big pit museum that allows visitors to head down into the ground while Blaenavon Ironworks gives an idea of how the ore was worked until it became a suitable material for construction. Whatever you do around Merthyr it is hard to get away from the rich industrial heritage. A visit to Merthyr can be fascinating for all the family. While some will love the open space, rugged beauty and sublimely tranquil Brecon Beacons National Park others will enjoy finding out about the regions amazing industrial heritage and rise to prominence as one of the major manufacturing areas throughout the industrial revolution. Whatever your reasons for visiting Merthyr, consider a hire car the perfect accompaniment allowing you to travel at your own pace and in comfort. About the Author Travel expert Thomas Pretty looks at how car hire Merthyr Tydfil services are great way to see the town and surrounding area. |

Sports Parentsâ Behavior During the Car Ride HomeCoach Brian Gardner of St. Louis, Miss. has coached ice hockey for 10 years and even led one team of 11- to 12-year-olds to a national championship. Some of Gardner’s players’ parents drive for as long as 1.5 hours to get their kids to the ice rink. That’s a long time for parents to be alone with their kids after a game, says Gardner. Especially if they spend that time talking about the players’ performance. “A lot of times, parents think more about their kids’ success than the whole team,†says Gardner. The result: They give too much instruction, which can undo Coach Gardner’s lessons and coaching system. “At the least harmful level, the parents second-guess some of the systems we put in place, such as a power play system. They say ‘You should do this, not what Coach says,’†Gardner relates. On a more harmful level, parents tell their kids that they played badly. Out of frustration, parents sometimes even suggest to kids they should consider giving up the sport. This behavior, while well-meaning, is counter-productive to Coach Gardner’s efforts and not helpful for the players, he says. What exactly is the best way to talk to a young athlete after a game? First of all, it’s critical to support the coach You’ll only confuse your child by disagreeing with the coach or offering counterproductive coaching. Second, you need to encourage your child as often as possible. Even if your athlete’s team lost, you can find something positive to say about his or her attitude, effort or about two or three positive plays. As a sports parent, your goal is to build your child’s confidence—not tear it down. During the car ride home, you should avoid discussions about what your child did wrong in the game. Young athletes know what they did wrong in a game and don’t need to dwell on it during the car ride home. Let your athletes cool off after the game for 30 minutes to one hour before jumping in to discuss their performance. Let your child initiate the conversation rather than bringing up the missed pass that cost their team the win. Be as positive as possible. High Oil Prices Mean Invest in Coal-to-liquid Technology (ctl)Who in their right mind would consider a Coal-To-Liquid Technology(CTL) investment when we have plenty of oil supplies? You should. Because we dont. Yes, oil prices are high. But crude production has peaked. Output in all major fields is fixed, or is declining. New oil fields are smaller and harder to get at, and extraction techniques are getting more difficult and expensive. Energy demand around the world is rocketting. Oil prices are rising steeply. Increasing political unrest means uncertain supplies, and the markets hate uncertainty. That suggests oil substitute fuels like liquid coal will be needed soon. The obvious oil substitutes-liquid natural gas, oil sands, biofuels, fuel cells, renewable sources and nuclear power can't meeting total demand at a reasonable cost for the next decade at least. What is likely to be the solution? Large supplies of coal. Combined with a long-used proven technology which can convert coal into a clean pumpable liquid with low burnoff emissions- CTL. Both are now readily available at competitive costs. There are vast available coal deposits in the USA, China, India ,Canada, and Australia, allowing enough liquid coal for scores, maybe hundreds of years, even if demand accelerates. Note that the Middle East has declining oil and virtually no coal. Once oil prices rise above $35 a barrel, coal-to-liquid technology providing liquid coal at $20-$30/barrel begins looking very attractive as an oil alternative. Presently oil prices remain above $60, show no sign of descending and could peak at $100-$150 a barrel - IF available from anywhere. This would potentially lead to gasoline at $8/gallon at US pumps and widespread recession. Other technologies such as coal gasification and gas-to-liquids (GTL) are currently cheaper than coal liquefaction and so some companies afraid of a downturn in oil prices and seeking the best current investment returns may be tempted by those instead. However China and the US-now the two major powerhouses of world industry-are likely to opt for liquid coal on the basis of huge cheap domestic supplies and the incentive of non reliance of volatile outside markets. China is an fast awaking industrial giant. They need vast amounts of energy badly for electricity for factories homes and schools, have little oil but lots of coal. Trouble is, the coal is in the north, and industrial developments in the south, China is huge and the roads and railways are presently poor. It's hard to transport solid coal then burn it and create lots of pollution, but much easier and ultimately cheaper to pump clean liquid coal by pipeline. The government there doesn’t argue or debate issues with the public-with collaboration with Royal Dutch Shell, they have already started to build a liquid coal plant in the Ningxia region, with three more on the way. Also, consider the car. Demand is growing worldwide. But so are demands for cleaner more efficient vehicles. Liquid coal can be used to make both gasoline or diesel fuel. But the most ecofriendly efficient car of the near future probably WON'T be a electric-gasoline hybrid but an electric-diesel hybrid. This will have similar refinement and performance but far better overall miles per gallon, lower emissions. Also note that China and India plan to break into the car production market and will be in a powerful position to provide cheap clean fuel-efficient cars to their own vast markets and overseas. Extra pressure on car manufacturers (dependent on crude oil and suffering from high production costs) and already hovering on the brink of bankruptcy in the US? Or to switch production heavily towards hybrids? Liquid coal - way to go! Present coal plants can't and wont use oil for a fuel- burn profile is wrong and way too expensive. However any existing coal plant that presently burns coal will be able to burn liquid coal too. Efficient, kinder to the environment, no sulfur, mercury or ash AND less smells dust and fumes. Expect politicians to push CTL and give it an easy tax ride for the same reasons they are presently favoring biofuels like ethanol: (1) there’s the lure of a vote winning rural job-creation side from an industry otherwise viewed as declining. (2) Many Western voters and investors are getting worried about the security implications of depending on their energy supplies from increasingly unfriendly or unstable nations. (3) Many environmentalists, given the right conditions (e.g. high carbon capture at CTL plants, alternatives like nuclear energy), are likely to warm to CTL because of its overall cleaner profile. Many firms are already investing in CTL. Forget oil and other oil substitutes for the moment. Look into it now if you are interested, and look for CTL specialists like Headwaters, Syntroleum Corp, and Rentech, and particuliarly, the highly experienced South African company, Sasol. Buy a Second Hand Car â Use Government Seized Car AuctionsOne of the most important things to have is a good, sturdy car. Most of us would want to have a quiet travel in the countryside just to admire the view, and it would certainly be easier for us to get by when we have our own car by our side. But the problem is, what if we have an immediate need for our own transportation, but we only have a considerable amount of money to avail it? Our next but wiser result would be to buy a second hand car. It is also quite a good choice when one decides to buy a second hand car, but it is very important to make sure that the parts are still intact. Remember that before deciding to avail of the model on sale, you should make sure that the parts of the car are still fine. The mirrors should be intact and it should not show any defects. Of course, we should not forget that the engines of the car should be in a tip-top shape. If you miss to check all of these important aspects of your second hand car, chances are you would lose money instead of saving it for a rainy day. One good alternative to buy cheap used cars is to visit government seized car auctions. These are held all year all over the country and you can pick up some real auto bargains at these seized car auctions. Most government seized cars are seized from criminals. Because they cost money to maintain and store these cars, they are often willing to let go of these seized cars at dirt cheap prices. Some cars are still in relatively good condition since they have been used for less than a year. However, you have to be careful as the seized cars are sold as is and it is important you check to make sure the parts such as the engine are still in good working condition. If you are not familiar with cars, it would be best to bring along someone who is familiar to help you check the condition of the cars. It is generally a good move if you decide to buy a second hand car, especially if you want to save more on your purchases. Just make sure that the model that you buy is still working as good as new, to get your money’s worth. About the Author Discover the best site to buy a second hand car.
